Guide on How to Unbrick MR40 DevicesUpdated a year ago

This guide will show you how to unbrick your device if it got bricked during a firmware upgrade.

IMPORTANT: Before you begin, please be sure to download the latest firmware to your computer/laptop from this LINK.

Instructions:

  1. Disconnect Power cable from the router
  2. Plug the ethernet cable from the LAN connector to your computer or laptop that has the downloaded firmware.
  3. Press the reset button on the front of the device close to the power port, using a pin or a pen. maintain that position until after the step 5.
  4. Plug power supply
  5. Wait 10s and depress the reset button
  6. Open a browser and go to 192.168.1.1
  7. Click the second option down from the left hand side menu.
  8. Choose the middle "Browse..." button on the right hand side panel.
  9. When the popup window appears, upload the firmware file you downloaded.
  10. Ensure the checkbox at Number 1 in the picture above is selected.
  11. Ensure the filename at Number 2 in the picture above is the correct file as the one you downloaded.
  12. Ensure the checkbox at Number 3 in the picture above is selected.
  13. Click the button to the left of Number 4 in the picture above.
  14. Ensure that the filename is correct and click the button to the right of Number 1

    in the picture Below.

  15. Allow the update operation to complete.

    Wait about 7 minutes for the update to complete, than close the webpage.


thats it! you unbricked your device and it should allow you to access it and change settings and connect to the internet!
